About the Department
The Cytology Department at Florida Woman Care Laboratory plays a central role in early disease detection and preventive women’s health.
Our team evaluates cervical and gynecologic specimens using liquid-based cytology, advanced digital imaging, and AI-assisted Pap testing.
Every specimen is screened through a combination of automated analysis and expert cytotechnologist review, with final interpretation performed by board-certified cytopathologists.
Our testing practices follow current CDC and ACOG cervical cancer screening recommendations, ensuring that results support accurate, evidence-based clinical decisions.

We review more than 25,000 Pap specimens each month, making our cytology program one of the most active and technologically advanced in the region.
