Florida Woman Care Laboratory’s team of board-certified pathologists represents a broad range of expertise in cytopathology, surgical pathology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory medicine. Dr. Ifeanyi Nwadukwe
Dr. Ifeanyi Nwadukwe leads Florida Woman Care Laboratory with a vision centered on quality, innovation, and collaboration.
Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty training in Cytopathology, he has over a decade of experience in women’s health diagnostics.
As Laboratory Medical Director, Dr. Nwadukwe oversees strategic growth, AI integration, and clinical excellence across cytology, histology, molecular, and clinical laboratory departments.

Dr. Edyta Rotundo
Dr. Edyta Rotundo brings broad expertise in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and hematopathology.
Before joining FWC Lab, she practiced at Bristol Hospital, where she served as Medical Director of Hematology and Blood Bank and Assistant Medical Director of Pathology.
Her extensive clinical experience, multidisciplinary expertise, and longstanding commitment to laboratory quality enhance FWC Lab’s ability to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic care to the women and providers we serve.

Dr. Zulfia McCroskey
Dr. Zulfia McCroskey serves as Technical Supervisor for the Cytology Department, overseeing implementation of the Hologic Genius Digital Pap AI platform and maintaining the lab’s rigorous quality standards.
With dual fellowships in Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology, she brings exceptional diagnostic expertise and a passion for continuous improvement in women’s health diagnostics.

Dr. Elena Bishop
Dr. Elena Bishop is a board-certified pathologist with fellowship training in cytopathology.
She brings a keen eye for detail and a commitment to diagnostic excellence, supporting Florida Woman Care Laboratory’s mission to advance women’s health through accurate and timely results.

Dr. Leslie Lopez-Calderon
Dr. Leslie Lopez-Calderon is a board-certified pathologist in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology with extensive experience in surgical pathology and cytology. Prior to joining FWC Lab, she served as Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and practiced at Regional One Health Medical Center in Memphis. She has also held several laboratory leadership positions including Medical Director of Cytology and Director of Anatomic Pathology. Her clinical and academic experience supports FWC Lab’s commitment to high quality diagnostic care and collaboration with women’s health providers.

Our department supervisors and laboratory managers bring decades of combined experience across cytology, molecular diagnostics, microbiology, accessioning, and quality systems management.
Jessica Nelson
- Healthcare professional with over 15 years of experience in diagnostic testing, laboratory quality systems, and regulatory compliance across both military and civilian healthcare environments.
- Military-trained laboratory professional who began her career in laboratory science through U.S. Army medical laboratory training in 2002.
- Laboratory operations leader focused on strengthening quality systems, improving operational efficiency, and supporting high-performing healthcare teams.
Jessica holds two bachelor’s degrees in health-related fields and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), combining clinical expertise with business leadership to support strong healthcare operations and continuous quality improvement. Outside of her professional work, she is a dedicated wife and proud mother of five who values family, travel, health and wellness, and lifelong learning.
Juliann Berkana
With nearly a decade of experience in molecular and genetic testing, Juliann Berkana specializes in diagnostic techniques that support women’s health.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and certification as a Molecular Biology Technologist (MB) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
Juliann is passionate about delivering accurate and timely molecular results that empower physicians and improve patient outcomes.
Tameka Cooper Sexil
Tameka Cooper Sexil oversees specimen processing operations with over 20 years of experience in laboratory accessioning and workflow management.
She is known for her leadership in staff training, quality assurance, and process standardization.
Her attention to detail and strong organizational oversight ensure that every specimen is documented, tracked, and prepared with precision.
Rosa Ramos
Rosa Ramos brings 28 years of experience in cytology, holding a post-bachelor’s degree in Cytology from the University of Puerto Rico and certification as a Cytologist by the ASCP.
Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in the State of Florida, Rosa has built a career dedicated to accuracy, mentorship, and education.
Her partnership with the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus established a clinical rotation program that prepares the next generation of cytologists.
Dr. Alfred Iqbal
With more than two decades of experience in CLIA-accredited laboratories, Dr. Alfred Iqbal is a recognized leader in microbiology, molecular biology, and public health.
He has directed multidisciplinary teams at state and county health laboratories, including serving as Technical Programs Branch Chief at the Colorado State Public Health Laboratory.
Dr. Iqbal’s leadership in infectious disease testing, biosafety, and laboratory modernization supports the lab’s readiness and responsiveness across all diagnostic disciplines.
Melissa Lawson
Melissa Lawson is a USF undergrad with graduate semesters at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine in Anatomy. GO BULLS!
She has 12+ years of experience in anatomic pathology and laboratory operations.
Melissa is passionate about maintaining the highest laboratory standards while supporting pathologists with precise, high-quality slides that contribute to accurate patient diagnoses.
Corey Kitchens
With over 15 years of laboratory experience and nearly a decade in leadership roles, Corey Kitchens oversees daily laboratory operations and cross-departmental collaboration.
He holds a Bachelor of Science with a certificate in Cytotechnology and is certified as a Cytologist by the ASCP.
Corey’s expertise in cytology, molecular diagnostics, and quality systems management ensures that Florida Woman Care Laboratory continues to operate with consistency, compliance, and excellence.
James Culver

With extensive experience in molecular diagnostics and advanced laboratory techniques, he oversees daily operations of the department while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and quality standards. He is a collaborative leader who works closely with colleagues across departments to improve processes, solve complex challenges, and deliver dependable results that support patient care.
Deaudrick Williams
Has worked in the accessioning department since 2022. Adaptable results driven professional with over 6 years of experience in healthcare. Proven ability to lead teams, streamline processes and deliver accurate work in high volume environments.
Deaudrick has worked within healthcare for over 6 years; he cares about quality, accuracy and being effective as a leader. He believes camaraderie and compassion are key components to growth, both personally and professionally.
Pamela Vick
Holds a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Healthcare from the University of South Florida with a focus on mental health in the community.
Takes pride in creating a supportive work environment where staff feel comfortable, valued, and set up for success.
Pamela took a strong interest in the laboratory setting after volunteering at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in the pathology department as a teenager. Over time, that interest grew into a career centered on supporting both the technical side of the lab and the people behind it. She brings a thoughtful and practical approach to leadership while focusing on communication, teamwork, and keeping things running smoothly day to day. Outside of work, Pamela enjoys reading, spending quality time with her children, and is always seeking personal growth as an important balance.
